For Nature and Future Eco-Green Initiative (FONAFEGI) is a non-profit organization founded in Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria in 2023. The organization is committed to advancing environmental sustainability and protection against disaster risks posed by the triple planetary crisis of climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, pollution and waste; and promoting eco-friendly practices that minimize carbon and eco-footprints.
Our goal is to inspire a sense of responsibility for prioritizing environmental sustainability, stewardship and drive positive change in lifestyle, innovations and policy for a just transition to a safer, greener and more sustainable future.
We are guided by the understanding that while ‘life on land’ is a norm, people and planet can still thrive positively without jeopardizing the chances of future generations. Our vision is strengthened by an unyielding resolve and relentless commitment to inspire institutions, businesses and governments to prioritize eco-friendly practices and cultivate a global community of people dedicated to preserving the planet for generations to come. We envision a world where the journey towards a greener, safer and more sustainable future can be a reality through positive climate actions.
At the heart of ‘For Nature and Future Eco-Green Initiative’ is The Eco-Green Club—our dynamic network of dedicated members. The Club serves as a thriving community of eco-lovers, sustainability enthusiasts, eco-entrepreneurs, and environmentally conscious individuals who are united by a shared vision for a greener and more sustainable future. The Eco-Green Club is led by the executive management team’s appointed president, who also appoints a vice and secretary, as the club’s community outreaches/advocacy lead and communication/human relations officer respectively.
Inspired by the mission and values of the initiative, The Eco-Green Club plays a pivotal role in advancing grassroots environmental advocacy and action. Members are actively engaged in eco-friendly campaigns, tree planting, recycling drives, sustainability education, and other impactful activities that encourage responsible environmental stewardship. The Club also fosters a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and lifestyle transformation, enabling members to integrate sustainable practices into everyday life.
Through the passion and commitment of The Eco-Green Club, For Nature and Future Eco-Green Initiative continues to amplify its reach and impact, nurturing a new generation of leaders and change makers dedicated to protecting the environment.
